Vision
In this global economy, wasting resources is no longer an option. EVA Énergie offers an alternative by giving a second life to batteries that have been rejected by users and are facing destruction. On top of facilitating a quicker and cheaper cell supply, we reduce the need to rebuild new cells and alleviate pressure on the recycling centres which process these products that are considered hazardous material.
History
EVA Énergie was created with the combined skills of Igor Simonnet (software and financing of innovation) and Jean-Louis Chaumel (renewable energies). The startup quickly took off thanks to two main reasons: the increasing prices of lithium-ion batteries and the need to reduce recycling costs, by slowing down the accumulation of unclassified lithium-ion batteries. In 2022, EVA’s R&D lab developed an automated technology to measure cell performance and establish precise statistics based on battery packs throughout Québec. The serialized production could then begin.
